Deidrya Jackson, M.D.

Dr. Deidrya Jackson is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in glaucoma and cataract surgery.

Dr. Jackson was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, but grew up in Windsor, Connecticut. She is no stranger to Western Massachusetts, having spent four years at Deerfield Academy. She then went on to spend nine years in Providence, Rhode Island, receiving her Bachelor of Arts, Doctor of Medicine, and Master of Public Health degrees from Brown University.

During her residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. Jackson was awarded the Storm Eye Institute Program Director’s Award, which is given annually to the resident “who best displays the behaviors and attitudes each of us looks for in our own personal physician.”

Dr. Jackson recently completed the combined Tufts New England Eye Center and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston glaucoma fellowship, and is a provisional member of the American Glaucoma Society.

When not in the clinic, Dr. Jackson enjoys traveling (ask her about Machu Picchu!), brushing up on her cooking skills, and playing the piano. Now that she is back in New England, Dr. Jackson plans to take full advantage of “leaf peeping” opportunities this fall. She also hopes to follow in Dr. Hubbe and Dr. Shatz’s footsteps in charitable international ophthalmology.
